Summary: Japanese-Thai Dictionary does not collect, store, or share
any personal data. All data is processed entirely on your device.
1. Information we do not collect
The app collects none of the following:
Name, email, or any personally identifying information
Search history or favourite words (stored locally on your device only)
Location data
Camera or photo data
Device information or IP address
Analytics or behavioural tracking data
2. Data stored locally
The app stores the following data directly on your device and never
transmits it to any external server:
Search history: words you've recently looked up
Favourites: entries you've bookmarked
App settings: installed dictionary database version, display
language, and Pro purchase status
This data can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.
3. Network connections
The app works entirely offline. An internet connection is only used in the following
cases:
Pro version: verifying purchases made through the App Store or
Google Play
Camera OCR (Pro): a one-time download of an ML Kit model
(~10 MB) from Google's servers for Japanese text recognition. Once downloaded, this
feature works entirely offline. Camera images are never sent off the device.
Handwriting recognition (Pro): a one-time download of an ML Kit
digital-ink model (~25 MB) for recognizing hand-drawn Japanese characters. Once
downloaded, this feature works entirely offline. Your drawn strokes are never sent
off the device.
Translator (Pro): a one-time download of Japanese and Thai
ML Kit translation models (~60 MB combined). Once downloaded, translations happen
entirely on-device.
Outside of these cases, the app makes no connection to any server. The optional
stroke-order animation data is bundled inside the app itself and is not downloaded.
4. Third-party services
The app integrates the following third-party services:
Apple App Store / Google Play Billing: processes payments for
the Pro version. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies apply to these
transactions.
Google ML Kit: downloads models for text recognition,
handwriting recognition, and translation used by Pro features. See

5. Children
The app does not collect information about anyone, including children under 13.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted on this page along with a
new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance
of the new policy.
